Sal Corio is founder and President of one of New England’s leading auction companies – SJ Corio Company.  Over the past 20 years, Sal has conducted hundreds of auctions for his commercial clients as well as many local not-for–profit organizations.

After graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 1983 with a BS in Finance, he received professional training from the nationally acclaimed Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Missouri.

Sal’s number one priority is to ensure that a charitable organization maximizes the proceeds from its auction.  Drawing from experience is invaluable and is the most successful method to achieving maximum proceeds.  The auction process begins with much advanced preparation.  This pre-planning is the building block to the most successful auction possible.

Sal is widely known for his enthusiastic and entertaining approach.  Sal’s auctions are always run with a high degree of professionalism, although flexibility and the ability to ad-lib are always present in the fluid environment of his auctions.  Sal is especially well-known for his ability to embrace the cause and tune in to the audience’s preference.  It is not unlikely to see traces of Sal’s comedy club routine surface during live auction performances. Always willing to get completely in the spirit of the fundraising event is the key element to Sal’s success. 

Successful in benefiting over a hundred charities over the last few years, Sal has truly been instrumental in helping to meet their fundraising goals, totaling well over $4,000,000.
